controversial 3rd in the 1993 Masters to achieve his best performance
in the tournament and collect $90,000. Won nearest the pin in 1996
despite registering blood alcohol content of 1.89. Despite scoring
below his tournament average, Spuddy recorded his worst performance in
2003 tied for 12th.
Highlight
of his career occurred at 2002 Carrie Cup, where Spuddy Cruddy
skippered the Southern Hemisphere team to victory over the Northern
Hemisphere. Spuddy recorded the lowest individual score for the team
and beat Noni Scanlon for the first time head to head in living
memory.
Spuddy
Cruddy has been working hard on his game in the off season and could
surprise at this years Mongrel Masters. A top 5 placing is not beyond
him if he brings his "A" game.
In
1996 after an all nighter at the Casino with Ramrod Ramsey,
Spuddy Cruddy Murphy played the Mongrel Masters with the
highest recorded blood alcohol level.
