Played the first two holes of the 1996 Mongrel Masters only to cite sanity and withdraw from the tournament on the 3rd Tee.

CAREER SUMMARY

Sidelined for nearly 18 months during 1993-94 after contracting 'Ross River Fever', a mosquito-carried virus which caused damage to the eyes. Developed conjunctivitis from over-wearing contact lenses. Condition now improved thanks to laser treatment on eyes in 2000. Topped Australasian Order of Merit in 1996-97 after winning Australian Masters and was 2nd in the Order of Merit in 2001 following victories in the Ford South Australian Open and the Tournament Players Championship. Has had fabulous rookie year in 2002 on the US PGA Tour making close to US$1.5 million and easily retaining his Tour card. Qualified for his first US Masters with successive victories in the Australian PGA and Australian Masters taking him to another 2nd in the Order of Merit in 2002.
