Winner of
1992 Mongrel Masters and Rookie of the Year. Although a virtual
recluse in Queensland and rarely grace the golf course with his
presence, Johno, is one of the Legends of golf that crowds gather to
see.
Johno's
return to Palm Beach in 2002 was not as kind as ten years earlier, as
he recorded his worst score and finish. However, he made amends for
his disappointing form by winning the longest drive with furthest shot
in tournament history.
In 2003
Johno made amends for his poor form the previous year and made it back
into the top 5 and only one shot hsy of a playoff berth. He is said to
be still suffering nightmares from his triple bogey 7 on the second
easiest ranked hole the 5th, which cost him the championship.
