Champion's UTFC Reunion Tour A Raging Success

UTFC reunion attendess, Noni Scanlon, Joho Johnson , Chief McKell and Rocky Rock

During October 1998 many of the big names of the Mongrel Masters - Stilton Cheeslechux, Lincoln Strutt, Johno Johnson, Harold P Ouvrier, Long Drive Cliffy, Buddha Yeates, Santa Crowles and Noni Scanlon, headed for Bundaberg to attend Champion Willey’s UTFC Reunion Dinner.

After the euphoria of his all time weight lifting record at the Friday night welcoming cocktail party, Champion Willey decided that while he was on such a high he would marry Deb the next day.

It seemed a pretty sound idea given that Deb came from Bundy and all the lads were in town for the reunion. The wedding also fitted perfectly into the schedule.

The ceremony was held at 4pm at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, enabling all the lads to continue on to the Brothers Leagues Club for the Reunion Dinner. They didn’t even miss the gap in the drinking and Deb graciously turned up late so the boys were able to listen to the Caufield Cup - she’s quite a gal!
