Johno to come out of hiding.
1992 Mongrel
Masters Champion, Johno Johnson, has announced his
intention to play m this years Masters.
Alter donning
"the Blue Tweed'', Johno had reached the pinnacle of his
career and found that there was more to life than just
golf. So he quit the tour and sought further fulfillment
with his other love, fishing. He moved north to Queensland
and established a successful boating venture called "The
Booze Cruise".
"I've heard
that the booze cruise is really great. But I wouldn't know
first hand because I've never been on one" said close
friend Buddha Yeates.
When asked what his thoughts were on Johno's decision to
quit the tour last year, two time Masters Champion, and
well known salty sea dog, Noni Scanlon responded.
"The Mongrel
Masters is the Holy Grail of golf. Your quest for it is
arduous and all consuming Once attaining it life holds few
challenges. The void has to be filled. In Johno's case,
his new quest was something outside golf. He chose to have
the wind blowing through his hair, the salt in his lungs
and a boat lull of nauseas drunks to pass the time away.
An old sea dog like myself can see the appeal in that type
of lifestyle."
However, this was not fulfillment enough for Johno. He
could no longer neglect his true passions in life, golf
and winning.
"After reading
and hearing all the crap that was thrown at me for not
competing last year. I thought I should come back and
answer my critics in the only way I know how, by winning."
said Johno. ''Besides, like everyone else on the tour I
just want lo make sure that Noni doesn't win again. I
couldn't live with myself if he did."
Asked what
preparation he was doing for the Masters, Johno replied "I
dont want to give away too much, all i will say is look
out , because Johno is back!"
The line up of
talent competing this year's Masters justifies the
tournaments tag as the Grand final of Golf with the winner
walking away with the games greatest prize, the " Blue
Tweed".
