Noni Scanlon weds!

After thirty seven years of avoiding it, Mongrel Masters Chairman Noni Scanlon was finally married to the ever patient Jennifer Waldschmidt on 16 August 2002.

The wedding was held in Jen's native USA at the "twin cities" of Minneapolis and Saint Paul in Minnesota. Scanlon assures us that it was coincidental the wedding occurred in the same town and time as the 84th US PGA Championship.

The guest list included many Mongrel Masters greats such as Ramrod Ramsey, Harold P Ouvrier, Chad G Todd, Boxcar Willey and Spuddy Cruddy Murphy. Even Mongrel Masters Patron Cambo Campbell took the time out during his hectic US PGA schedule to  attend. In fact he did not leave the reception until after midnight and the next day shot 4 over, which apparently Scanlon feels totally responsible for.

Having so many Mongrels make the huge trek to the States was greatly appreciated by Scanlon, who organised  many social activities to keep the tourists occupied. This included a bucks weekend in Las Vegas, attendance at a major league baseball at the Metrodome, a meet the local natives BBQ, the rehearsal dinner and tickets to the US PGA to support Patron's Cambo Campbell and Mossie Lonard.

"How often does Noni shout?" said Harold P Ouvirier when asked why he made the trip to the wedding. While Ramrod Ramsey said that his reason was " unless I was there to witness it I would never had believed that he got married ."

One thing is certain and that is those Mongrels that did attend certainly left their mark, in more ways than one. Just ask Boxcar Willey!
