Cambo
to play in 2002 Mongrel Masters

World
number 13 Michael "Cambo" Campbell has agreed to play at the
2002 Mongrel Masters to be held at the Palm Beach Golf Club on
30 December.
This will
make Cambo the only player ever to play in all five "majors"
this year, or at any other time, which is quite a unique feat and one
that Cambo is relishing.
"I
have heard so much about the Tournament, and have always wanted to
play in it. Unfortunately previously I could not fit it into my
schedule. This year it fits in perfectly and I cant wait to play
"said Cambo.
It wont be
smooth sailing for Cambo as the Committee have handicapped him
appropriately. Cambo is allowed to use only two of his clubs from his
bag during the tournament. In tough negotiations with his manager,
Ramrod Ramsey, the committee were able to limit the clubs he can use
to the 3 wood and sand wedge.
Having
effectively had his hands tied behind his back Cambo is still
optimistic about his chances and hoping that the thirteenth Mongrel
Masters will prove lucky for him.
"Given
the club selection, it certainly will be a challenge on the testing
Palm Beach layout, but don't count me out on wearing the blue
tweed jacket home after it is all over."
You can be
certain that Cambo's presence will ensure that the Palm Beach
fairways will be filled with even more excitement and rivalry amongst
its players than ever before jousting for the pleasure of donning the
coveted blue tweed winner's jacket at the 2002 Mongrel Masters.
